I shot up some of my supply of 16ga. hunting and target ammo. After looking over my inventory I have some needs for sure. What I have found out, the very best value out there is Fiocchi! I looked at wholesale price for all the brands from win, rem ,fed, estate, HV hunting loads 1300 FPS with 1 1/8oz of hard shot from Fio run 93.00 flat and from the other names 130.00 flat. Just how long prices will remain this way..don't know? I would get out and buy some Fiocchi while they are at these lower prices. Retail price will be more across the board. Fiocchi is quality made here in USA with hard shot in there loads and the hulls are great to reload too. This ammo patterns excellent in my 16ga. guns. I use game and target loads in my light 0 frame 16-s 2.5 dram to 2 3/4 dram 1oz t0 1 1/8 shot and keep the HV loads for my Parker repro or 1 frame Parkers. Short chamber guns get B&P classic loads for hunting and or RST for light birds or clays. No dealer price on theme unfortunately unless you buy lots of flats. Ship fee's can run 10.00 a flat....Im lucky as we order for my shop from Acusport at fixed fee of 4.50 per order big or small, guns, ammo, misl. stuff. and they sell Fiocchi...(-: SXS ohio

Last month Cabelas had their Herter 16 ga shells on sale at $56 a flat, they are Chedite hulls. I picked up five flats and Rich (COB) already grabbed a flat  What are you going to do, but the price was great. You might want to try and call and get that price.

I got 2 flats of those Herters shells last month also, they reload pretty nice with 7/8 oz. and a DR16 wad. And they are purple. $56 is the best price I've seen in 16 ga.

Yup, the Herter, Remington Game Loads and similar 2 1/2 dram equivalent, 1 ounce loads will kill anything that we are allowed to shoot at with plumbum. I haven't bought the Remingtons for a while, but the last time I paid about $50.00 a flat plus sales tax. If I want boutique light or short loads, I will buy from RST at the shoots where shipping is not an issue. Thanks for the information on these other brands.

Not much available from Rio..no deal either, pricy to ship. The wholesale price 93.00 for Fiocchi High Vel. hunting ammo. This is not promo stuff 3 1/4 dram 1300 FPS hard shot. They have the best value for this type of ammo that I can find. Ammo has had price increase again in January! Its not going to stop going up......$$$$$$$$$$$$ I look for the Fiocchi to catch up with the other companies prices any day....like 120 to 130.00 a flat, That's why Im getting some now. SXS ohio

You might want to try ableammo.com. Check the site often as they run specials periodically.

The sale on Herter's ammo is still going on at Cabela's....truly fantastic prices on ounce and a quarter "high brass" 12 gauge pheasant loads. It looks like B & P has discontinued shotshell sales in the U.S. ....anyone know whether that's accurate?

Do you guys really shoot that 1 1/8 ounce 1350 fps stuff in your 16 gauge Parkers? I wouldn't shoot it in a Model 12. Watch the obituaries. The Lovely Linda will sell you about twelve or fifteen feet of intelligent 16 gauge flats after I'm gone. Remington is still loading it, but I don't know for how long. It's up to about $79.00 a flat at Dicks now.

I buy Herters 16 g shoot them in my M31 Pump, then reload the hulls for my Parker Trojan. Modern promo shells recoil too much for 100 year old wood.

The 16 gauge Remington Game Loads used to be the same price as the 12s and 20s at Dick's. Now they have gotten smart and the price is ten dollars more per flat. The writing is on the wall. Buy them while you can.
