I bought this nice gun from a forum member several years ago, it is a 250.00 dollar grade gun that was presented to Ron Kirby some years back, No I did not buy it from Ron. I know a little of the history of this gun and I am sure some of the people that made this possible will chime in if I am wrong, The barrels were refinished by Oscar Gaddy? restocked by George Fliam? Also originally a walnut case was made for this gun by one of our members I believe, I am trying to find this case to bring this home to be with the gun it was made for. All I know is it was a walnut case, any help will be appreciated, I am in florida and do not have access to a photo, maybe Mike Smith has? Thanks to all Gary

Gary,

I can help a little. That gun surfaced at the Southern some years back and it was sold by a dealer with only a small number of guns on his table. He wasn't one of the big dealers that I see at most of these events. I don't remember who it was, sorry.

I was under the impression he was selling it on behalf of someone at the time I looked at it and after I learned that it was the gun presented to Ron by the PGCA, I naturally assumed Ron was the owner. I think that would have been a few years after Ron left the PGCA and I again assumed he was liquidating his Parker holdings. The case was not with the gun at that time.

Looks like I made a lot of assumptions here but I am sure that the case was not shown nor sold with the gun.

My first move would be to contact Ron, or check the flower boxes around his property. One of the flower boxes may be the presentation case.

In the Parker Story check page 237---- I purchased 4 barreled actions about 35 to 40 year ago, one being 3306, at a small gun show in Concord, NH run by my friend Art DiPrete . I donated 3306 as a gift to Ron Kirby ,others did different things to make it a complete gun. It was presented to Ron at one of the annual meetings 10 to 15 years ago .

Charlie, I still do not know what happened to the case, that had some work by Winston Churchill the engraver, and Bill I know Ron said he sold it with the gun? maybe one day it will show up, until then another mystery! I have a friend, Daryl Middlebrook who is going to Tupelo to pick up his lab in late November, he bought the dog from some one there and it will be trained when he gets her. Her name is "Sky" How far are you from Tupelo? Gary

Her name is "Sky".

Knowing Daryl, that's no surprise. I wonder whet her full name is?

Congratulations Daryl!:bigbye:

It had some work by Winston Churchill the engraver.

Allan pays great attention to detail and it's no surprise he commissioned Winston Churchill to engrave it.

There's none better in my opinion.

Thanks Allan. I knew he is a personal friend and I kinda suspected he did that as a friend.
