Repair of a cracked stock depends on a number of factors. First, the crack itself. Second, the skill of the fellow doing the "repair." Thirdly, potential reinforcement. And finally, the "glue."

In regard to the last, the best on planet Earth is the original 'red box" Brownell's Acra-Glas.

But it won't make up for the other three...

I would agree with Acra Glas. Preparation, plus reinforcement, are also crucial for a sturdy repair. Even though the Acra Glas is thick, wood fibers will absorb the mixture as if it were a standard wood glue. I use Acra Glas gel, which also penetrates the wood, but allows a little more time to work with it. Good Luck!
