Need a little assistance and advise. Bought a VH 20 ga. with 26 inch tubes. Really nice gun with 30 % case colors and 95 % original blue on tubes which are unmollested. Now the problem, I bought it cheap because some idiot lowered the stock by cutting it in half and taking out some wood and then glueing it back together. I think this only because you can see the line and it is absolutly straight so doubt the stock was broken.
The question is whom do I send it to that can make this bad repair almost un noticable and how much should I spend to do it.
I would not ask and just sell it, but i did the worst thing possible by shooting it today and got a 24 out of 25 on skeet. So now I want to keep it but the economics of doing so has me scratching my head.
Need some folks with a clear mind to straighten me out. I paid $1000 for the gun and dont want to spend more to fix it then I can ever get out.
All comments including why am I not seeking therapy are welcome.:)

If you have a grand into a 20ga Parker

I think you have room in its value to work on a stock. If it fits and the shape is ok there is a guy who hand paints grain to cover up such issues

Well,

If you are looking to work with what you have and make the cut and glued joint look like it is not there, then Mark Larson is your best bet.

If the dimensions of it now are too much though, then making the joint go away will only be a cosmetic fix. To correct fit issues, you are liking at either a butt transplant or a restock.

I think that for what you spent, you are not in a bad position given a worse case scenario.

Guys. Thanks for the advise. Now how do I find Mr. Larson if he is the man for the job. The gun fits just great and I shoot guns with standard dimensions (14.5, 1.25, 1.5). If I could have the contact information I would be very thankfull.

sounds like you have a gun that you can hardly miss with.. and with only a thousand in a 20 ga is about unheard of..i think you made a great buy...if it were mine i guess i would leave the stock alone since you do so well with it...looks ain t every thing....charlie
