The 2015 PGCA Raffle Gun is a Quality GH 12 30" with nice wood and well matched Damascus barrels. The gun is all original except for a light wood recoating of finish.

Tickets will be sold at Pheasant Fest in Des Moines the weekend of Feb 22 and thereafter by mail and at other events.

The G was donated to the PGCA by Jeff Kuss. Thanks Jeff.

Does Jeff or the PGCA have a letter on this gun?

Larry Frey

Yes we do have a PGCA letter that will accompany the gun. I held this gun and can say that the barrels are very stout with perfect bores and you would be hard pressed to find a prettier piece of wood on a G grade. As can be seen in the pictures there is a lot of original case color remaining and the gun has very shootable dimensions. Thanks Bruce for getting these pics out and thanks again to Jeff for this wonderful donation.

Raffle tickets are at the printers and should be done in a few days. I will send each PGCA member a book of 6 tickets in August 2015. You may request more books at $25. for each book. Raffle will be held at the 2015 Annual Meeting. Which usually is in Sept.. Not sure about time and place yet.

I like the looks of that gun . Since it was made in 1911 I "assume" the stock dimensions are pretty decent for a shooter of today ? By that I mean DAC 1 3/4" or less and DAH 2 3/4" or less ?

A very nice gun, even nicer for the lucky winner:)

I received my initial raffle ticket book today. Being a BOD member I'm disqualified from buying tickets myself but I know I can sell these and more!

Thanks Mr. Ed Morgan, for all you do for the Annual PGCA Raffle Gun program.

Any left over tickets from the Pheasant Fest stack? That is usually where the winning ticket lurks

After I got these I sent him an email today to send me three more books .

I sold an entire book already and plan on keeping the three other books for myself !

I got my tickets a couple of days ago. Thanks, Ed. I guess the annual meeting will be delayed to next year, although nothing has been said. What is the announcement concerning the annual meeting?

Dean Romig

You will all read about it in the President's Message in the soon to be mailed Fall Issue.

There will be an "abbreviated" Annual Meeting and social hour where the winning ticket for the PGCA Raffle Gun will be drawn at the Northern SXS Challenge and Exhibition at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays on the first weekend of September. This is in keeping with our By-Laws which direct that there will be an Annual Meeting each year. In this abbreviated meeting we will not have a banquet, nor a guest speaker, nor a Silent Auction, nor will Distinguished Service awards be presented. The next big Annual Meeting, the kind that we all are accustomed to attending and enjoying that will include all of the venues previously mentioned, will be in Baltimore, MD in March, 2016 and will be held concurrently with the Baltimore Antique Arms Show.

Again, please read all about it in Parker Pages, Fall 2015 Issue.

I received my raffle tickets in mail but did not get a return envelope . Do I just send payment and stubs to the return address on the envelope they came in ?

I emailed Ed Morgan twice but have not heard back from him as I would like to get another book of tickets .

[QUOTE=Dean Romig;174077]I received my initial raffle ticket book today. Being a BOD member I'm disqualified from buying tickets myself but I know I can sell these and more

Huh?

Ok, Dean, I'll reprise my role as the village idiot but why on earth would a BOD be disqualified from buying tickets? This is a raffle, correct? The drawing is held at a pre-disclosed, public venue, not in some black hole of curatorship. I'm assuming the tickets are dropped into a spinning drum after which, a neutral 3rd party reaches-in and pulls out the winning stub? So what advantage would Dean Romig (or any BOD) have over Steve Cambria?

The BOD knows Dean doesn't need any more guns

Now that one I could understand!! He didn't earn the moniker, "Dean of Damascus" on knowledge alone!

Tool Man, I just googled "Black Hole of Curatorship" and your name came up before Ed Muderlak and Bill Murphy. Congratulations on your promotion.

Steve, because that's the way it has always been and that's the way it always will be.
I don't question it.
I don't feel in the least disenfranchised.
I won a PGCA Raffle Gun once, long before I was a BOD member, and that is enough for me... for life.

It's just the way it is Steve. Personally, I'm good with it.

Fair enough, Dean. I apologize if my comment exuded the tone of some PGCA gadfly. Certainly not the intent. I thought perhaps you were "trolling" a Jitterbug for a defense attorney and this "largemouth" took a swipe. Mea culpa. :banghead:

Yours truly managed a large raffle for a prominent CT. sportsman's club for 22 looooong, years. Hats off to Mr. Morgan for his tireless efforts. Those who have never rolled up their sleeves and plunged headlong into that administrative/organizational morass, have no clue of the hours of work involved.

Ed Morgan I sent you a PM

I sent Mr. Morgan three emails last February asking for ticket books to sell. No reply. After some research I guess the reason is that the winner has already obtained the ticket at pheasant fest where five of the last seven winners were drawn.

If you go to the main page parkerguns.org and click on the "About PGCA" link you can find direct contact information for ED.

Try that, but remember, he could be off on a family vacation, ill or any other thing you can think of that might take him away from a computer. Its a club, not a business, and nobody fills in when someone steps away from their post for a short time.
