I have been using smaller guns for the last couple of years but got a Swan tag
this year. Brought out the Mag 10 and it stopped a Swan stone dead with 1 3/8
Ounces of Nice Shot at 30 Plus yards. I could have loaded it heavier but the lighter load worked super on the pattern board.

Charlie that was 13/8 OZ #3 Nice shot in a 31/2 inch shell case, this load worked very well at long range. I did have 2 ounce BB in left side but the 3s did the trick. I was flabbergasted that he folded up like a dove. These things really hit hard. a couple through the neck and one through the body I had the 3s in the shop and a couple of bbs around that I made up last year. I was standing in a flooded ditch water above my waist. Almost like body booting.

congratulations on a tag draw and successful hunt, once in a lifetime hunt I expect.

I remember a recipe for swan in a waterfowling book many years ago, you put it in a preheated oven and checked it once a week until it was done.

will yours be mounted or roasted?

"They taste like Steak". Actually you can get them every year. I got one in Virginia and one tag in NC this year. This one is not shot to hell and will be mounted.
