I had 16ga VH gifted to me a couple of years ago. The gentleman who gave it to me intended to be my hunting mentor but suddenly passed away this last fall. He was really the only reason I planned on bird hunting and now that he is gone I don't think I want to pursue the sport any longer.

I would like to try and sell the shotgun now but I have no idea what it is worth. It is well used and has been restocked and he had smith work done on it to make it capable of shooting modern cartridges. In fact, I posted a thread about this gun on the old forum. Here is a link (http://parkerguns.org/archive/parkergun/forums/forum1/7001.html) to that thread. Could anybody point me in the right direction for how to determine the shotgun's value and a recommended site to try and sell it?

Erik,

My first thought is to find your friends relatives and offer it back to them. He may have already come to the conclusion that no one in his family was interested. However, he could have just liked you better and wanted to see you shoot his 16 gauge Parker. The stock is a distraction to the value. 16's are at a premium and for about $1,000.00 you could have it restocked, but I think that should be the decision of the purchaser. I have never sold or puchased a gun on the internet so I can't help you there.

Good luck,
Harry
