First Sargent Dave Mostellar is in the bottom of the ninth with two outs . He had surgery for cancer back during the summer and they pronounced him in remission . He went in Walter Reed less then a week ago and they told him it was back where he had the surgery and also in his lungs .
He's going in November 1 for a leg amputation and then they'll attack whats in his lungs or try . He's been told it's terminal .
This guy is a BIG AH Fox man and I am sure a fair amount of the Parker clan have met him or seen him around .
Anyway if you are of a mind reach deep in your heart and say a prayer for this man . He deserves the help of prayer from anyone willing .

As he is going in for surgery on 1 November, All Saints Day, maybe he'll catch a break. Prayers. WRAMC is first rate. My son spent several months there.

I understand what you're saying . My mom was a cancer patient , she went in remission 3 times before it finally got her in a round about way .
But you also need to take in account this man is only 46 or 47 years old . He also told me it was his intention to fight this thing to the best of his ability .

My apologies if I came off callous ,it was not my intention

Quite to the contrary I understand (I think) what you meant . And you are correct , I watched my mother slowly loose over the course of seven years it just wasn't or didn't seem to be acute until the last couple months . My best friend of almost 50 years father also passed from cancer and his sickenss was a good bit harder for I think the last 18 months . My best friends father was as close to me as my own father so I was aware of issues etc in his sickness as well .
I took no offense , but thanks just the same !

David Mosteller is a super individual. I first met him by way of his enquiring about an A Grade Fox that I had to sell. We struck a deal and I sent the Fox to his girlfriend near Camp LeJune, NC. He was in Iraq at the time and so I sent him the extra copy that of Mike McIntosh's book on A.H. Fox that I had. By return mail from Iraq I received a whole box of goodies from him including T shirts with his outfits logo, a chess set with his outfits logo and a Gerber switchblade knife. When he returned to the states I arranged for him to attend the Vintagers get-together at the Southern Side by Side in Sanford North Carolina. I got there in the late afternoon and hadn't made a hotel reservation. David was kind enough to invite me to spend the night at his home nearby.
There are all kinds of people in this world: Some SPECIAL and some "NOT SO". David is truly one of the former. GOD BLESS YOU DAVID AND FIGHT ON!
Best Regards Your Buddy, George

Well it seems they postponed his leg surgery until Tuesday . He wanted to go to his home in NOVA and take care of the guns he shipped home from Japan . No Parkers , Fox's or LC Smith's but several interesting things from what he told me a month or so ago .

I just spoke with David and he sounded very upbeat. His surgery is scheduled for 9 AM tomorrow (Tuesday) He said that he would begin chemo and get his prosthesis in about two weeks when his leg heals. Please think of him at 9 AM and say a little prayer.
Best Regards, George

Got off the phone with David a few minutes ago !
He's undergone his first Kemo treatment and of course the leg above the kneee has been removed . But all in all he seems very upbeat !
He's still searching for Fox guns I might add !
He told me he'd be down my way next week on the way home to the Lynchburg area and he planned to stop here on the way for a visit .
