Just a few of my various collections of odd stuff.....

The leather sheathed knife in the middle of pic #6. I have one exactly like it that my grandfather brought home from the Philippines after serving in the Spanish American War. If yours is like mine, it has only one purpose, that being to push in under or through the rib cage from in front or behind and up into the heart of someone you're looking to terminate. Mine is a needle-pointed double edge stabbing knife for certain and has the exact same brass-trimmed ebony handle with the brass fitting on the end for a lanyard ring. Am I right?

That's a very odd knife, I've often wondered it's original source and purpose. The blade is actually made from copper, very much looks like a fighting knife though. No lanyard ring but the blade is shaped as you describe. It came out of a flea market down in Southern Illinois many years ago.

In looking at these photos, it makes me realize my need to regularly dust. Or maybe to just hire a maid.....

Those knives are the perfect length to come in under the ribcage and up into the bottom of the heart.... Mine has a carbon steel blade and a very sharp needle point but the edges are not sharpened. Could be something that they made to sell to the touristas of the day. Who knows...

In case anybody is wondering, that top photo is my collection of vintage mosquito repellent. Few other oddments thrown in there, some crow and dog repellent and a couple other weird ones.

Love Destry ,especially the old pipes...I missed out on an estate auction here once ,there was a 5 gallon pail of pipes the old guy collected over a lifetime.

Destry, I won't comment on your many fine and interesting collections--except to say they are fine and interesting. But I DO want to say that your new phone takes better pictures than my very old Nikon camera! ....or....maybe it's the photographer.

Being an old bachelor, I can decorate the place as I like. So yeah, the whole joint is essentially just different displays of weird old junk. Hah!

I've always liked the sign an a man's table table at OGCA

"How come all my stuff is s**t, and all your s**t is stuff"?

The 6-12 bug dope brings back memories of my youth. My father thought it to be the best there was back-in the day.

Going fishing with him, I grew up lathered in 6-12 !!

Yes my father remembers it we'll also. He laughs every time he visits and sees it on the shelf. Wish I could find a bottle marked Nessmunk's and one of the early style 6-12 with the cotton swab applicator.
