I had the pleasure of introducing a youth hunter to duck hunting today, Cole and his dad Brett. We had 5 youth hunters at our duck club today 4 boys and 1 young lady. Smiles all around and it gives you faith in the future of our sport and the next generation of hunters. Future Parker and Fox collectors!!

That's great! I have been seeing a "few" more young hunters the last few years. Not in great numbers but more than I have seen in a long time. I hope the upturn continues.

Wonderful pictures. Thanks.

CL:
You are to be commended. The youth of America are the only assurance that hunting and the responsible use of guns can continue.

Over the past few years, I've essentially "donated" some nice guns to young people just to get them "into" the sport and enthusiastic about the outdoors. It seems to work, too.

If each of us wisely just gave an old double to a seemingly interested young lad or lady, it would go a long way to preserving hunting, double guns and our Constitutional heritage.

Charlie: The ducks are a GWT and a young hen Pintail. The young hunter had many opportunities, a few couldn't get off the safety in time, one empty shell in the chamber etc. etc. ----you know the learning curve we all go through as young hunters. The boy age 12 did make a great right to left crosser at 25 yards on the Pintail---dead in the air.
