Just saw, for a brief moment, a spectacular 28 ga single trigger, straight grip with this odd serial number. Didn't see it long enough to determine grade but I believe it was a VH.
???????????

Jim , I really am not familiar with Reproduction Parker Serial #'s but is it possible you ran across a Parker Reproduction ????????? There would be no four digit ,Hammerless 28 Ga. , Parker Brothers Guns built in a V Grade and , The lowest grade built in the Reproduction guns was the DHE Grade as far as I know ! Could you post pictures ? Russ

It is not available to post pictures.
Its not a repro.they weren't very pretty. Case color fell off them just by looking.
It could have been a pistol grip then changed to straight and some how or reason stamped on a different number. I didn't get the chance to see any other parts to see if the numbers matched. Would have needed approval of ATF to change or add different number.
The serial number was: 28-4098

They used dashes in their numbers ?
From what I saw it didn't look like a repro but maybe......
