Hello, I have a Parker single barrel trap gun with serial number 203565. Has a 32" ventilated rib barrel. Very fancy stock with raised cheek rest. I don't know if this a C or SC grade. Bluing on the barrel very good. 12 gauge.

Also any help what this be worth?

Thanks George

Pls post some clear, close pictures. An original gun has some value, but most trap shooters end up modifying the gun to get that one additional bird (probably would have been better off taking a lesson, but such are trapshooters). Those modifications can badly depreciate the value of an otherwise nice gun.

Should be a 12 gauge SC with 32 inch barrels and a caped pistol grip stock. One of five consecutive numbered SC's, serial #s 203564 - 203568.

Value is all about condition and originality. For the best guess at its value, you could search for Parker SC on auction sites and see how they are selling for guns of similar condition.

Yes, photos will help a lot in evaluating condition.

What Mr. Dallas says about Trap guns is right. Most of them have had their stocks altered pretty badly and it is very hard to find one that has had no alteration done to it. The hopes is to find one with little alteration.

The Grade, guage and barrel length that your gun has is the most common configuration that Parker Single Traps will be found in. But they still did not make a lot of them by way of actual numbers.

The price of Single barreled guns are not what the Double guns bring, so do not be surprised at some figures that may be tossed out there.

I have some pictures in The album site, haven't figured out how to post picture in my original post.

The stock is not original to the gun. I think the stock was made by a stocker whose last name is "Anton", or some such. The contrasting inletted piece at the pistol grip is the giveaway

The Forend wood is not original either.

My thoughts on fair market value is $2,000 to $2,500 tops.

George, Is the forend serial numbered to the gun?

John Dallas is correct, that is an Anton stock. Anton was a well known stocker among competitive shooters. His son-i-law took over the business and his business is called Hillmer Custom Stocks.

The locking mechanism has the same serial number as the rest. About the wood I don't know for it is beded, one of the replys was that it is not the original foreend..

The forend iron has the correct serial number as the rest, I don't know about the wood it has been bedded and I don't see a serial number. There was a reply the the forend is not original. I'm not and expert on Parker guns so I have to relay on the experts.

I say that the forend is not original since it is more proud of the metal at the back than it should be and also the checkering is no where near correct for the grade. It is full cover and is borderless. The bedding you mention is another clue to support this.

George, Thank you for the reply. The forend does look a bit proud but several of us have seen SBT guns with various styles of forend checkering even in C grade guns. We must remember to never say never.

I want to thank everyone for their input, it has helped very much. Although this SBT may not have the original wood it is a truly a beautiful gun. The balance when you put it to your shoulder is amazing. My father used this for over thirty years and was a top trap shooter here in Western Pennsylvania.
