Brian Dudley's article really got my attention and I read the whole thing without moving out of my chair. Very impressive piece of research.

Thanks Gents.

As we are about to begin our respective hunting seasons I thought the fall issue would be the right one to publish a number of stories of our member's hunts with Parkers and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I did when I received them.

Brian's technical article was an excellent piece of investigative research and he made a significant discovery that if anyone had known about the secrets that have been held by this gun until now they had certainly forgotten them because Brian has now switched on the light that reveals the long-held secrets!!

Thanks to all who have so generously contributed to this issue of Parker Pages.

Looking forward to reading it when it arrives.....Course my wife may have intercepted it until I get some stuff finished up at the house.

Made it here to the Inland Empire today. Another great issue, congrats to the editors and all the authors.

In the interesting article on "The Parker Convertible" page 226 from Order Book No. 37 is shown on page 34. At the bottom of that Order Book page I see one of my favorite research subjects, Noel E. Money, eldest son of Capt. A.W. Money (Bluerock), returned his AAH Pigeon Gun No. 81122 for some work. Looks to me like it says "Make LH Shoot but can"??? Anyone have any better idea what that says?

Possibilities - "Make L.H. shoot best can Return his case"
Or.... "Make L.H. shoot but can Return his case"
Or.... "Make L.H. shoot bud can (apparently there was no Dr. Pepper then) Return his case"

Maybe Chuck can decipher it for us, he has had a lot more practice at reading the books.

The sentence reads "Make LH shoot best can." I can only guess he wanted the LH choke to shoot a tight even pattern. I also see "make shoot close" quite often in the records. I don't know if this means they wanted it to be an open choke or tight choke. It may be possible to look at the stock book if available and see if the pellet count gives a clue.

I think this is the most likely scenario. It was written by the guy who also stamps hammers.

Thanks guys. I'm sure Parker Bros. already made that AAH Pigeon Gun shoot the best it can. The fault probably is with that powder Noel and Daddy were making!!

Only my 2nd parker pages, but I have enjoyed both. I really liked the article at the end about the encounter with the old duck hunter. I could really relate to it, more from the perspective of old bird hunters I have known. I am thankfully still in the relatively young pup mode so I hope to enjoy listening to them talk for a good long while.
