Ithaca Crass or Lewis

This is a grade 3 with serial # is 55275 and the damascus is chain. What should I look for to identify it as Lewis or Crass. Did Loy engrave just the highest grades.

Tom,
I believe that is a grade 3 Lewis. I have the same gun, ser 62818, and have pictures of it in the General Discussion Forum On Other Doubles earlier this year. Mine is very nice, but yours looks exceptional. Nice case coloring remains, and you have great wood condition. Look back on earlier posts for a look at mine.
