I was recently contacted by by an elderly gentleman for assistance in pricing his Parker shotguns. This man tried to sell his 3 Parkers at local gun store and was disappointed in value suggested by the retailer. I've never seen these guns all I have is the information which was provided me:
1. 1923 DH, Serial # 205XXX, DT, 12 gauge, 26 inch barrels, IC and Cylinder, redone by Babe Del Greco
2. 1934 DHE, Serial # 236XXX, single trigger, 12 gauge, 2 sets of barrels 26 inch Skeet N and Skeet O, 30 inch trap barrel and redone by Larry Del Greco

I'm told that all the information about the Del Greco work is documented for both guns.

3. Parker Reproduction, Serial # 00574, 20 gauge, single trigger, two barrel set, 26 inch IC/C and 28 inch Mod/Full and it is cased in the Parker Reproduction Case.

In talking to this gentleman on the phone he needs fair value to take care of his financial needs. I'm not trying to sell these guns only provide a range of fair value so when he does sell them no one takes advantage of him.

PS: I don't have photo and he does not have the ability to provide pictures.

George,
Your probably not going to get Board Members to jump in on your question. Too many variables etc.
I can only suggest you go to a site like Guns International and review the Parker and Repro
listings to get an idea of prices asked. Keep in mind asking price and realized sale price is often very different.
Also, you could get a copy of the "Blue Book Of Gun Values" and check pricing in condition described.
If you would like to get Member help for first hand appraisal I am sure there would be offers of help if requested.

Understand, appearance and condition is everything. Without photos, I do not know any way to express a valid estimate of value. IMHO. :knowbetter:

The DelGrego's might give you an idea of value as well. They have always been helpful and I think they would give you a value that would keep him from under valuing his guns. Guns International website should give you everything that is on the market right now and should easily give you a value on the repro. gun.
You can reach the Delgrego's at 315-894-8754. Lawrence is Babe's son and does most of the work now, you will probably get him. Good luck and thanks for helping someone not rely on bad information on their guns. You are doing someone a nice favor and they will usually remember you when and if they do decide to sell.

The best way in your case to get a value "range" is to see what the blue book has to say and also what similar guns are being sold for on the internet sale/auction sites.
Or if he actually wants to sell the guns for a fair price, he may want to consider consigning them with a reputable seller. No gun shop or dealer is going to pay a seller retail prices. That is just the reality of it.
If he is not looking to sell and just wants value for insurance purposes or something, an appraisal from a qualified source is the way to go.
