Can anyone recommend a good barrel smith to re-chamber a Parker. I have a 16 gauge #2 frame that someone drilled out to 12 gauge. I will need a new extractor as well. What does something like this cost?

I take it you want it put back to 16g? What are the bores? Still 16g?
I would recommend giving Kirk Merrington a call and discuss with him. I know he does chamber conversions often.

Somebody probably did it when they were "going to quit making 16 gauge shells". I wonder when that was? I've heard guys say that all my life, it would be comical if it wasn't so stupid. I know a guy that, to this day, thinks they're going to do that and hordes shells thinking he's going to "cash in" when they stop. I also went to an estate sale a year or so ago where all the shotgun shells were 16 gauge and priced at $35 a box because they "didn't make them anymore". I told the guy I had a couple cases of 16 gauge I'd sell him for $15 a box, he didn't want to buy then oddly enough.

If this 16 has indeed been rechambered to 12, it may be dangerous to shoot. For a professional evaluation and potential rescue, I'd send the gun to Kirk Merrington. And please don't shoot it until he checks it !

This is the 16ga gun that was posted last year with 34" 6 pound barrels. It is a real interesting gun. I have no intention of shooting it until it is evaluated. Any comments on using Briley vs. Kirk? I talked to bothe over the last week and each said the evaluation project would not be a problem based on inspection.

If the gun were mine, I'd much prefer Kirk. But, that's just me.

Kirk Merrington is by far the best barrel man in the lower 48 today.

Is there someone better in Alaska or Hawaii?
