A while back we discussed multi barrel sets and now I wonder if Parker ever made a multi gauge set. I have a made up set in 16 with added 12ga barrels and once owned a damascuss 16 that someone added a set of damascuss 20ga barrels to. Did the ever come from the factory like that??

Didn't someone recently mention a factory 10/12 gauge set or possibly my old age is showing.

I have a A grade 20/28 gauge that was done by Remington, the gun started life as an O framed ejector Damascus 16 ga. Now if I could just find that 30" 16 ga Damascus ejector barrel.... Bill......

One of our members had a CH with two original sets of Bernard Steel barrels, one set in 12 gauge and the other set in 10 gauge. A year or two ago RHO had this gun for sale.

The gun I refer to is not the one BD shows and has both sets of thirty-inch barrels.

I thought this might be of interest to this conversation. As many of you know Austin Hogan had a great interest in multi barrel and multi gage sets. At on time he had sent me the image below which is taken from the 1899 Parker catalog giving the price and effect (weight) of having the factory add a second set of barrels of a different gage. Also of note is the fact that this second set of barrels cost approximately half of what a new gun would have cost. I believe this information was used in an earlier Parker Pages article by Dr. Hogan.

I have a PH 3 frame 10-gauge twist 32" and a PH 3 frame 12-gauge 32" twist, I fitted the 12 to the 10 original PH frame reason for buying the 12 gauge was for the barrel set and forend frame and stock were toast barrel weight marked on the 12-gauge set is 5-4 and the 10 gauge is 6-7 I know its not the same gun, but a 3 frame is a three frame. So what are your thoughts I just weighed the barrels without forends and 10 were 5-11 and 12 were 4-12 I see in Larrys post that its states fitted to same stock would that mean forend too? So, if a new forend was fitted also it could be lighter?

Good Morning,

I have Fred Henke's original pre WW1 DE Fox 16/20ga set with original box. He was in charge of the metal finishing departments and died on the job during the '40s while still at Fox Products. I got the gun thru Paul Yeager and Fred's Uncle. It remains unfired and has a very early scalloped frame, 'that matches Mr Godshalk's Special FE 16ga', which is also still here. All Good Stuff! I think I might have posted photos in early DGJ's??? Happy New Year to All, Tom
