Hi- I had posted this in the new members forum- I'm interested in the Barrel markings on my new gun. Particularly what look like a Maltese cross. I don't see mention of that type of marking anywhere in the technical data or in my searches on this site. Anyone have any idea what its there for? You can see it in the picture on the left barrel.

That cross is a Remington proof mark of some sort. No one knows for sure what it signifies.
Your barrels have the Remington date code of Dec. 1936.

Thanks- so do I take this to mean this is seen on other Parker's and not unique to mine?

Yes.

It's in The Parker Story as a symbol with unknown meaning.

Jeff, it is not unique to your gun. I have a 20ga VHE made during the Remington era that has the cross.
This mark and others are discussed in The Parker Story.
