I have a 1902 parker G that was purchased new by my grandfather. It has a bright shiney finish that looks like polished nickel. No signs of ever having case colors. It has been in my safe for 65 years. "experts" tell me that ALL parkers where case colored. Is this true?

Yes. The colors have worn off and were the result of the hardening process after the engraving was done.

There should be remaining case colors on the receiver water table and the underside of the for-end. Are they there?

Normally when case colors wear off, the result is a gun metal gray. If the metal is a bright nickel, it's probably been polished.

For around $450 Brad Bachelder will make it look like new. He's done a couple for me and I'm very satisfied.

Here are a couple non polished D grades. These have turned naturally to a silver color. They both have a light amount of case coloring left. I have others that are gun metal grey, mainly lower grades. The D grades seem to hold the silver look .
