After researching both original and reproduction Parkers I decided to start with the Repo. guns. Too much information to digest for a purchase on an original gun at this point in my learning curve, so now I can play and enjoy Parkers while I learn a lot more.
Thanks to the forum members who assisted me and fielded my novice questions.
My first Parker is actually TWO.
#1) 12-ga, 26" ic/m, 2-trigger,Straight stock, splinter, w-case, caps, paperwork, UNFIRED (No case dust cover, couple marks on wood & barrels)
I'll shoot this one A LOT.
#2) 20-ga, 26", ic/m, 2-trigger, Straight stock, Beavertail, w-case, caps, paperwork, UNFIRED (VIRGIN- 100% Cond., NIB & PRISTINE)
May let this one age for awhile.

Both have above average wood with some burl/fiddleback and nice layout thru the wrist.

If any sources arise for Repro. parts: I need additional barrels for 12&20-gage.
(Q1/Q2 and/or M/F) Beavertail for 12-ga. and Splinter for 20-ga. forearms.

Best Regards and love the site.

Your 20 was a great buy! I was watching it on broker too. The 12-28" barrels will be almost impossible to find as well as the for-end. You may get lucky and find the 20ga. set of barrels but they will cost about 2K normally. The world of parkers is a great, enjoyable vice.....it can wreck a persons cash flow and make you gun poor....I look at it like a 401k investment that I can enjoy.....(-: SXS ohio

Even if you find barrels, which is unlikely, the numbers won't match and renumbered guns are quite obvious to collectors. Buy more guns and forget about more barrels.

I have had Repro barrels fitted to other guns and renumbered to match. I am unable to tell the altered additional barrel's numbering from the original. I also paid the best gunsmith house in the business.

Kirby, I recently did the same thing. I bought an unfinished A-1 repro, was so impressed with it I bought others. IMO, Parker repros represent the best value in a high grade SxS. Many DHEs have wood equal to the A-1 repros. If you want something a little more special than a DHE, you can have the engraving upgraded or enhanced for a nominal cost.

Forrest, I agree the Parker reproductions are fantastic guns and hopefully investments we can enjoy while they appreciate in value over the long haul.

The next chapter: The beautiful little 20 Kirby bought back in November has now found a permanent home with me. How'd I get it away from him? Well let's just say he doesn't hold his liquor very well. I'm kidding, of course, but he did shed a tear as he put it in UPS to me. It's a beautiful gun and I plan to go out this weekend and shoot it for the first time. I own an original Parker 12, and this is my first experience with a Repro. I have to say I'm gigantically impressed! Hope it's not just a pretty face and performs as well as it shows -- I'm sure it will.

Alex.
I'm very happy the 20-ga has a new home where she's appreciated and
Can spend time playing outside as parker and skeuse. Intended.
Best regards.
