Taking a Trip to W. Florida

My wife and I will be traveling from Oregon to the Sarasota, Tampa and Ft. Meyers area of W. Florida in December. It's getting a little cold out here!

I was wondering whether any quality gun establishments around that area might be worth a visit?

Would certainly appreciate any recommendations you might offer.

Jon, I am in Florida during that time of year 20miles east of Ft Myers, Do not know of any good gun places to look The Show at Ft Myers usually has two or three Parkers, thats all not much in the way of Parkers that I have seen in the last 7years I have been going down, there are several places to shoot though, Gary

I'm down here in Clearwater and there's not much to look for when it comes to guns.
When the Tampa gun show is in town it's really nothing special when it comes to our Parkers.

have heard the Tallahassee gun show is pretty decent...and if in the Tallahassee area, do spend a day and a night at wakulla springs state park... an do have lunch at posey's restaurant south of there in Crawfordville.

Gentlemen, Thanks all for the input. Not sounding too encouraging about good Parker places. I still enjoy sniffing around. Never know what will walk through the door. Not so great up here either. Maybe Reno or Vegas!

Hey John,

I was born and raised in Sarasota and am now living in Bradenton.
I do not know how long you are in town for but the best gunshow in Florida in my opinion is the Lakeland gun show held twice each year. The next show is in the spring. Most of the other gunshows are typical "black-guns". Sorry there is not more to offer. Sarasota has a great sporting clay facility near venice that has several shoots a month that cater to sub-gauge and side X side...

Those are considered South Florida... West Florida is Pensacola, Ft Walton, Destin & Panama City. :rotf:
