LeFever 20 ga.

There is a really nice Lefever 20 ga on gunbroker.com. Wants an arm and a leg for it though: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Seems like he wants a premium. Anybody on here an authority on Lefevers? I really like the looks of this little shotgun, but I don't want to over-pay. Blue Book seems to say - $5-6K value.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Mike, I would suggest you call Jay Schacter, owner of Vintage Firearms, and discuss what he knows about the gun as far as originality is concerned. There are LeFever athorities who frequent this forum and one or two of them may be able to give some insight.

Hi Michael et al,

I removed the link to the gun for sale because it is against the forum rules to post ANY link of a gun for sale in the public sections of the PGCA forum. This is because there is no requirement to join the PGCA no matter how many posts one makes on this forum. There has to some benefits to membership.

PGCA members however know that the PARKER PAGES alone is worth the $40 annual membership fee.

i ve seen this gun it really is a nice gun to me..i ve been looking at a little lefever f grade gun 20 ga already got one 20 lefever but i guess it want hurt to have two in case one breaks down... charlie

I agree. If one is good, two is better! I am just not convinced that little gun is worth the kind of money he is asking.

mike i dont know if the gun is worth what he is asking or not..but it sure is a nice gun by any standards..i guess if i owned it it would take that much to get it from me..but if i owned it it would not be for sale...but thats a lot of money just to have something to look at but i guess this is what its about... charlie
