I do not know if you have seen the "How its made" on Holland and Holland or the "How do they do it" on Purdey but they are definitely worth watching. I have the Holland and Holland episode on hulu I must have watched it 10 times.

I had the opportunity to spend about 4 hours in the H&H factory. Amazing what those men can do with basic hand tools. It was like walking into a 100 year time warp. The manager admitted that many processes could be done faster and cheaper using modern methods, but "We don't want to lose the capability of doing the old way".
