We helped set up a booth yesterday here in Denver at the Tanner gun show and will be headed out there shortly for the day. From what I saw during the setup there should be lots of interesting toys there this weekend. One ammo collector guy had a board with 14ga shells of paper and brass by at least two makers. Never seen a 14ga brass hull before. He had good stories of being issued a mod 97 as a police officer and shooting up cases of brass 00-buck rounds from the inventory. He said that getting the old '97 out and racking in a round would put the 'fear' into bad guys like nothing else could...

No gun show, but we went to the gun club this afternoon and looks like I may have picked up a 16 gauge Sterlingworth

I only spent $10 at the Tanner show today. There was a fair bit of old shotgun ammo I'd have picked up if I didn't have to fly it home in overweight baggage. Agonized over a pretty nice box of blue Peters paper 12ga ammo that I could certainly use...$30 seemed high so I passed. Box is in excellent condition though. Did I screw up??

boys the gun show was small and not a lot of doubles there today heres what i saw of interest to me...1 parker seen a vh grade no case colors 12 ga and they wanted 5500 i did not look it over to good. seen 3 lc smiths one nice and the other 2just barely shooter one was a no 2 grade for 450 but barrels were bulged so i passed..seen a savage model 24 22and 410 combo man said it was a factory 22 mag my first to see one and it wearing the tinite stock and forearm..seen several nice lever winchesters but all pretty steep... seen a nice smith and wesson pistol chambereed in 32 long with pearl grips at 400 first thing i saw was a 22 calibre benjamin air rifle for 50 i shoulda come home with it... onlw seen a few collector shot shellsthere was lots of ammo even 22 s but all prices jacked up they wanted 7 for 50 rounds of 22 hollow point in a plastic bag... my man with the gun i was suppose to get never showed ...so i came home with nothing from gun show... but i did go by a little gun shop and buy some no 6 lead shot gave 55 for 25 lbs not cheap any more and its the only store around my parts that handle it..time i go on line and pay shipping and hazmat fee i cant do any better..if it were not for loading the short ten and the 8 ga i guess i would just buy factory ammo... charlie

We saw it and made an offer while there. We heard back while at dinner that the offer was accepted. We have a family reunion tomorrow but will go close the deal right afterward. It has some rust which needs attention but is good otherwise.

richard you shoulda bought that ammo in my opinion...would guess worth 50 if box was nice...old ammo about gone around my parts and there never was a good supply of it.. i have some of those 14 ga brass and paper shells i bought off the internet years ago.. should have bought the 18 ga remington but passed at 150.. only seen 3 18 ga on the net for sale they say the 15 ga is the rarest of the rare...did you see any 4 ga or 8 ga at the show... charlie

Charlie there is no hazmat fee on shot. Chesk into reclamed shot. At 30.00 a bag it is still good for blasting.

This has been a great weekend. Prime rib Friday night, half a day with my oldest Saturday scoping out duck hunting for Thanksgiving, also found good ole stick to your ribs country diner near where we will be hunting for lunch, gun club Saturday afternoon, committed to buy Fox Sterlingworth 16, oyster roast/bbq family reunion today, back to the gun club to pick up and shoot my new Sterlingworth, home to clean it up and now the whole house is quiet with wife and kids asleep

Did I forget to mention we tested It out at the gun club? It shoots rather well for a tight bored gun. It had some rust on the metal, but some oil and steel wool seems to have the rust at bay.

Thanks Charlie. I figured I might have blown it on that box of shells. I just wanted the ammo to shoot up in a Parker. It looked to be gone today when we went back to the show.
