The latest DGJ has a fantastic article written by Craig Larter. In it he uses two Parker era advertisements which give him reference for two of the owners of a magnificent AAHE 12gauge. The gun, like most Parker's I've been blessed to behold, is a work of art. Here is an excerpt from the first advert in the article...

Feathered Lightning-
Last of the leaves was swirling down-crows flapping lazily above sunlit treetops. Boots rustling along suddenly stop. Then the roar of a 12 gauge lashing distant hills as down tumbles feathered lightning-a quartering shot well placed.

I'm sleeping with my Parker tonight.

I also enjoyed the article. My only complaint is that with all the beautiful pictures there was not one of the wedding band on the barrels.

Pink of Dawn
Snug down in the blind-frost tipped reeds glistening in the pink of dawn. High off the faint honk of geese heading for decoys with the speed of a plane.

The rest is ad-man hokum. But the poetry is, well, poetry.

I first noticed the zig-zag border underneath the top lever, then I noticed it everywhere. The engraving is incredible, but the fine detail on and around the top lever is other worldly. My hands ache just looking at it (while my mouth waters).
