Just inherited a Parker Bros. Trojan-12 Ga. from my dad.
I've been told it's ok to shoot as long as you use the correct shell.
I found a company (Classic Shotshell Co., Inc./RST Best Grade that sells what I believe to be the correct shell. The gun is in good (well used) shape and is currently getting a once over at a gunsmith's shop.
Appreciate any advice.

Hi Joe and welcome to the Forum

RST shells are highly regarded and a lot of us shoot them or load our own.

I started out in about '61 or so with a Trojan in 12 gauge and shot just about any ammo I could find including heavy duck and pheasant loads... magnums too. The gun can take it with no problem but the wood, being as old as it is and probably pretty dry by now may not like those loads and could crack or split. Do yourself a favor and use the RST shells or load your own.
