I recently purchased a 16 gauge 36" hammer gun, the one listed in the parker pages #50,375. I assume not a common configuration that still exsists today. It was a part of a large order of 39 guns shipped to E.C. Meacham Arms Co in St. Louis, all the same grade, gauge and barrel length.
Any imput on how many 16ga 36" Hammer guns might be out there? It seemed like a odd duck to me and something fun to own.
Thanks.

Good for you. That looks like an interesting and unique Parker. Post some photos if you get a chance.

I think that you will find that any Parker with 36" barrels is uncommon.

According to Brian's post, there were at least 39 of them.

Post a picture when you get it.

Something doesn't add up here. According to TPS, there was only one 16ga. 36" barreled hammer gun, a Grade 2. There were many more in Hammerless. I looked at all the tables for top lever and lifter, for all grades.

Missing books, transcription errors, statistical projection errors, inability to read the available book data, and any number of additional unknown causes. The Parker Story authors did the absolute best the could with incomplete data. The shear magnitude of the available data makes how well they did, awe inspiring.

Can we get a reference for that Meacham order for 39 36" 16 gauges, and maybe a reference for the PP article that discusses #50,375?

Was the information on the Meacham order in a PGCA Letter, from the order book? Isn't that information the same as what was used in writing The Parker Story?

The gun was listed in the classified section of The PP in the last 2 issues. It is also listed in the found guns section.
It came with a very basic letter stating gauge, barrel length....etc. I found out about the large order of 36" 16 ga hammer guns through a conversation with the Parker researcher helping me on another issue. It is not listed in the serialization book but there are records on this gun in the order book.

The order book entries were not used in The Parker Story Grades section. TPS authors and helpers only scanned the order books for the guns listed in the appendix. The statistical information in the Grades section was accessed from the stock books.

As a novice parker owner what I learned in a short time is always request a letter. The serial number book is a great quick reference but there is a good chance that more information exists beyond that great reference!
Back to my 1st post on this topic......any other 16 ga 36" hammer guns out there still kicking around?
I am traveling now and will post pictures of mine next week.
Thanks!

I know of one. Perhaps the owner will reply with pictures.
