I have a 12 ga Reproduction 2 bbl set with one of the bbls being a BHE choked Q1/Q2. Great quail gun. The serial number on the BHE bbl and the splinter fore end for the gun do not match the other bbl and receiver. I am considering how to value the single bbl gun with the mismatched fore end. Any opinions from the group. Its about 95% plus. Looks unfired but its not. Any ideas how this 2 bbl set became like it is.

I don't believe the second set of mismatched barrels would appreciably add much value to the gun. If it were mine I would value the gun as originally made and value the orphaned set of barrels seperately. Some others may disagree.

Thanks Dean. I thought 2500 would be a reasonable valuation for the gun with the mismatched fore end and 1500 for the BHE bbls. What do you guys think. That's about 1500 less than I paid for the cased, composed set. "The Parker Story" says some BHE bbls were mated to DHE guns and sold as sets. Am still wondering how the mismatched fore end occurred.
