Other than Numrich are there any good parts suppliers for sears and hammers for a Trojan? It looks like I would be close to $200 for the four components if I order from them.

Do the sears and hammers have to be a "matched pair" to function correctly?

Is it difficult to re-install the hammer springs once the new hammers are installed? Are there any tricks to it?

I was planning on sending this gun away to a pro to be repaired, but I am 90% of the way to replacing those parts already, I think I could tackle it myself (plus my guy has a 6 week backlog).

Thanks,
CHAZ

Chaz,
Here is a link to an album that I made that shows how Parker hammer less hammers and mainsprings are removed.

I also have another that details the action's removal from the stock. The work is not super difficult, but you definitely need the right tools and good hands.

There is no reason why hammers and sears cannot be put into your Trojan that are not a matched set and have them not work. Maybe minor adjustments would be needed for proper trigger pull and sear engagement.

Chaz,

Check with Jack First in Rapid City, SD. The last time I checked which was a few years ago he had gone from a parts supplier and gun store to strictly a parts supplier. Hopefully they can help you out.

I have had the gun apart and the stock off around a million times so far trying to figure out what the problem is. The first step is always to drop the hammers, so it took forever for me to find the problem, which only shows when the hammers are cocked. I stopped short of pulling the hammers because I wasn't sure how bad it was to get the springs back in, some guns I have worked on gave me fits.

Thanks,
CHAZ

You do not have to drop the hammers first. You can pulleys trigger plate with the hammers still cocked. And then drop the happers with the plate off by pressing the sears. Just a word for next time or other onlookers.

I received a very gracious offer from Mr. Dudley, and will be getting a new set of hammers and sears shortly. I wanted to put a picture up of what I found. I am a little bummed that the parts are all numbered to the gun, and need to be replaced. One set has been "reworked" by someone, not me, and it threw off the angle of the sear so badly it wouldn't function properly. The other one has the rise in the center that would not allow a good sear to hammer fit, and it would double.
