I am looking to pick up a gun cart/shooting cart for sporting clays. I've been looking at several offered on line from a company called 'Rugged Gear'. I have no experience with this company or any other offering similar carts and would like some recommendations from those PGCA members who have purchased carts. A 2 gun cart if fine for me. I'm not interested in converting a stroller and would just as soon purchase a cart already configured. I can carve decoys but my mechanical skills leave something to be desired. Any suggestions on brands/models? Thanking all in advance. :)

I have used the Rugged Gear cart for several years and it is good, do order it with the "solid" tires, I see guys here having to have flats fixed. Regards, JH

Angel, I was at Cabella's in Hartford, CT today and I looked at the Do-It All carrier. The price is very good but it looked a little too light for me. I just wondered how well it would hold up. The tires on it are inflatable and that concerns me. (They were totally flat on their display model!!)

Thanks guys, I think I'll order the Rugged Gear cart and have my 2 daughters pick up the tab as my father's day present!! (They're pressing me to make a buy decision on something and don't want to just give me a gift certificate).

Allen;
I have a Rugged Gear and really like it. Do get the solid tires.

Allen, the one I have has the solid tires. Probably why it lasted 4 yrs and going.

Guys, thanks. I just placed the order with Rugged Gear for their 2 gun model with solid tires. Now I'm tired....

I have the tubed tires on mine and no problems. Rides like a Coupe Deville.

A wise accessory for the Rugged Gear cart is the "Fine Gun" sleeves for the gun rests. The standard rests are rubber. The "Fine gun" version is some sort of deep pile cloth. If you have good Parkers, these are worth it.

In addition, be careful about how much weight you put in the "seat area" of the cart. I hope Rugged has improved their stitching/reinforcement since I bought mine.

Otherwise, a fine choice.

Hi John
I'm going to take a pair of my best wool socks and make covers for the gun rack holders. And I will check their stitching when I receive this cart.

Whatever cart you end up with, the key is to have your grandson pushing it.

Allen, my Brittanies will accept only one brand in off road vehicles. The original rugged terrain machine. They also dislike the word stroller and prefer gun rack equipped ATV.

On the other hand, I think your choice of an RG cart would work very well.

Hi Charlie, Yes, I just had my morning coffee (strong as in Navy strong!). I really appreciate the responses to this thread and they're indicative of the wealth of knowledge and experience (and good fun) that Members bring to this Forum. I've never had a cart but have now witnessed these carts at several events and have come to the conclusion that at this stage in my life a cart would be a much easier way of lugging my stuff around these sporting clays courses. And my daughters have been on my case for weeks now to tell them what I want for Fathers Day. So this is it and here we are. Enjoy your morning coffee Charlie and other Members too. It's good to be alive.

Fred, your cart is exactly like mine, except for the gun racks. When customized they make a great cart for little money. Dave

With Babies. Rugged Gear Gun Cart arrived yesterday. It took only 15 minutes to put together. Real easy. Looks durable enough.
