I was at a local gun club 2 weeks ago and the subject of Parkers came up. A friend mentioned that he had a hammergun and he would bring it to the club the next week. He said it was in good condition. Now most time people tell me that, when I actually get to look at the gun, it's in poor to wall hanger condition but not in this case.

He brought out a 1890 Quality L (grade1) 16ga hammergun 2 barrel set on a 0 frame. The condition of the gun is excellent with much case colors and tight as a drum. The original set of barrels are 32" laminated and the second set are 26" twist. Most of the pattern is still excellent and the bores are spotless.

Too bad he's not interested in selling but I'll keep working on him!

Bill, the gun was originally sold to E.K. Tryon Jr. and Sons in 1890, then returned for the second set of barrels by P.F. Foley in Elmira NY in 1902.

Daryl, we could make him an offer he can't refuse!

just wondering - a quick look at a twin tiers ( that part of NY and adjacent PA ) genealogy site, it shows a Patrick F Foley as a partner in a book, stationary and wallpaper?? dealer

Foley P. F. Mrs., milliner, 16 DeWitt, h do

Foley Patrick F., (Lawler & Foley), h 16 DeWitt
