I was surprised to see this video pop up on the CNN business page. I was more surprised to see it had not yet been posted here. If it has already - my apologies.

Well, this video is very interesting! It shows that DelGrego has some of the missing records. Interesting very interesting.

Very interesting, I just talked to L. DelGrego today about a gun he is repairing and apraising for me. I am very glad one of the members on this forum recommended him to me. He was a wealth of information, polite and courteous.

About 4 years ago in a conversation with Lawrence, he made a comment to me about having records that the PGCA did not have. At the time, I didn't give it much thought nor thought it was a controversial statment.

It's been known for many years that they had record books in their possession. I don't believe the PGCA has ever made a serious attempt to acquire them. There are various suppositions as to why they've always been so quiet about them. Odd that they've discussed them publicly on this interview, maybe they're ready......

I was so elated to see, and lets be honest, just a nice video about firearms from a major new outlet. Not just that - beautiful guns that we adore....and the boxes of parts!! wow!
I didnt even stop to consider the records books in their possession may not have been looked by the PGCA, etc.
Very, very interesting.

Nice piece. Someone at CNN must be a Parker guy how else would they know about DelGrego.

Really nice to see some positive press for a change. Made even better that it's about Parkers.

Jay, what do you base your comment on?

I thought it was a good piece because it's the only time I've seen the DelGrego's in 'person' or any good shots of their shop. I always want to go there when I am in NY but it is so far in the middle of nowhere, I never do.
Although I have no particular love for journalism, I do have a good bit of education on that topic and I think a freshman in college could have done a better job....I'm amazed at how poor writing has become. For example, the story title is 'How a fourth generation gunsmith survives' yet it really gives no insight as to how that happens other than 'he works on guns'. A gunsmith who works on guns? Really?
Most of all, it would have been pivotal to include at least a couple sentences on the Parker gun. You know, "Considered by many to be the finest American made shotgun, the Parker was handcrafted for over 7 decades and is still prized today for its handling and style..." Can you imagine a story on Pierce Arrows that neglected to mention they were a cut above Model T's?

This may only be the first of this journalist's reporting of "discoveries" of Parker facts. There may be more to come.

A positive story on guns from a major news source , the first since Kim Rhode. Very well done by the Delgregos and even a splash of intrigue. The only thing missing was CNN calling them the "Delgrecos"

Now it's also accompanied by a story on the front page of CNN business

My guess is the tv photojournalist who shot the story is a shotgun man. If you notice, the DelGrego`s are telling the story. No reporter. Nice piece on the history of a fine shotgun...
