We are headed back to Argentina at the end of the month. This year we are once again with Diego and Felipe of
www.southernwingoutfitters.com and we will be shooting in NW Argentina at Las Termas near Tucuman. We'll do ducks in the morning and doves or pigeons in the afternoons. It is a lovely area with a mild climate similar to the Central Valley of California. Any place one can shoot ducks surrounded by orange groves is OK with me...

Russ Bickel and I shot there a few years ago. The blinds are literally 10 -15 minutes front the lakeside hotel. Our hosts have the only hunting on what must be a 50,000 acre lake. Once again the pleasant problem of "what guns to take?" raises its irrascible head. Unlike many outfitters who stock 12 and 20 gauge only, Diego is a 16 gauge shooter and has plenty of cartouches in 16. (27 gram loads of 8s for doves and 30 gram loads of 5s for the ducks) As no one bought it at Hidden Hollow, I think I'll take my 32" #1 frame 16g VHE and one of the guns I got from Russ' estate, a 30" 20g #0 frame DHE straight grip sans safety (which makes it convenient for volume doves) with .022/.028 it should have plenty of choke for the tall ones. I normally take Winchester M21s in 12 and 20 but I think this will be a Parker year
