I was as far south in California as Palo Alto/Menlo Park in 1950, about a month after that Superposed was delivered to Stanley Andrews Sporting Goods in San Diego in May. I first made it to Kerr's in the spring of 1969.

Kerr's was an amazing store. Jerry Knight ran the gun department when I was a kid. I think Kerr bagged him from Hollywood Gun Shop. He was a great guy and would show us kids anything on the gun rack and he had everything on that rack. Kerrs had a basement gunsmith shop that could fix any gun in the world.
Knight and his wife shot ducks at a friend's club in Antelope Valley. They were both great shots and his wife was knock dead beautiful. It was hard to keep our eyes on the ducks.
The first gun I ever owned was a Parker Trojan 20 my aunt gave me one year. I still have it and still shoot doves and ducks with it 64 years later. All my aunt wanted of me was a few teal once in a while.
Now I have 16 Parkers. It's remarkable what you collect over the years. I shot a B grade 12 at ZZs yesterday and got 24 of them. I'm still gloating over that. I'm sure I'll be humbled this morning trying to repeat that.
