OK. Can I ask your advise for a possible alternative? Is it possible to construct one using a pistol grip type guard and welding some steel stock as an extension onto the guard?

I have done it, i used coldroll welded to flat stock ,traced a factory trigger Guard on it shaped it to that and it came out very good. I never colored it so i don't know if it would have matched the front factory part of the guard. I did it for a restock 10 ga.

Thanks Scott. That's basically what I was planning to do. My only difficulty is although I have a half dozen Parkers, this 10ga that I'm working on is the only straight stock I have right now. This leaves me without a pattern to work with, but I believe that using the inletting on the gun and screw hole positions along with some good close-up photos from mother straight stock Parkers will guide me to a workable solution.

Yes. I have done it a few times. Just did it the other day for a superfox actually.

I would add that Brian did such an extension on a PG guard for a gun he restocked, straight, for me. I would defy anyone to know it was not original.

OK, I have some cold rolled steel stock that I was going to use for it. Is that what you normally use? Also do you by any chance have a pattern for that purpose?

The only note about welding on an extension is that you will likely have to rust blue it once finished. I have found that nitre or hot bluing usually shows off a weld like crazy. But rust blue hides it very well.

Yes, I had already planned to do that myself. I've only been doing engraving for about 2 years now, but I can handle that kind of work and touch up work on some of my old guns.
