Thank you Pete because reading that Del Grego letter without re-reading Austin's fantastic article leaves one wondering what he's talking about. I still don't know what he's talking about when he says he works under a different set of rules. But then again, it's not really important.

Did yoh ever find a link to Annie having owned that gun?

Thanks, but that part was obvious in the letter. What I was interested in seeing, which Pete addressed, was, what gun/article, was Larry referring to.

Dean, I have all of my information on the Annie Oakley connection, but have not put it together in "auction house" form. Getting the John Phillip Sousa articles together was a piece of cake compared to the Gold Hearts Gun. Yes, there are definite links to Annie and the 1902 Grand American at live birds, the last one. The "Gold Hearts" article was under a Bill Murphy and Mark Conrad byline. If you can't locate it, let me know and I'll dig it up.
