Here are some photos of the engraving in the white. From the very beginning the client communicated the metal finishing package that would be used. Everything done from my end was done to create the most visible, dynamic images in metal based upon the finishes. The client was interested in small “English” style scroll however that particular style tends to wash out or disappear with nearly all colored metal finishes. I suggested relief engraved scroll in my rendition of “Victorian” style popularized by the likes of Lynton McKenzie and others.

Additionally the various games scenes were executed to play with the light and shadow to create the most dynamic range of gradients in the images. Without getting too far into the weeds, I used a mixture of various tool geometries, layers of lines and even some dots and stipple points in the images.
