Came upon this old thread and I am just curious from the folks who saw it for sale what Dr. Norris’ Woodcock Purdey sold for the last time it came up for sale.

I can't remember the exact price, but it was enough that I went home to catch my breath and balance my checkbook. That done, I went back and the gun was gone. It was many years later that I finally found the Purdey of my dreams, a very late Whitworth barrel bar in iron hammer pigeon gun in high condition. However, I still have room for the Norris gun if I ever find it.
