Weight stops everything. So unless your gun is very heavy16+ lbs. ( I am not knowledgeable of your model) you are going to loose your target in recoil. Even fairly mild varmint calibers suffer loss of impact sight unless heavy for class. In part why you see serious long range rifles built heavy, with all the stability issues given consideration. Brakes are a whole other topic. You may be better served visiting accuratereloading.com for your rifle topics, it is a very active rifle forum.

It does make one wonder why, with all the rifle, bench shooting, muzzle brake, threads, in all the vast number of forums, why a person would come to a vintage SxS forum and make his first post on anything but.
