Two blacksmith friends here in Fairbanks make very nice damascus knives by sandwiching a file between layers of chainsaw chain. I once gave one of them a stack of rusty old files I found at an abandoned gold mine far out in the busy. The finished knives come out very pretty. Sorry I don't have a picture. Maybe at some point.
