A good friend knew of this gun and put me in touch with the owner who as luck would have it was local. I had many questions and he finally said he was going to the auction house Thursday and i could me him there to inspect the gun. Let me tell you what a treat it was to fondle that high condition small bore. The case color and wood are definitely original. Dean you nailed it perfectly. The gun was bought new about 1940 by a great uncle attorney. He rarely used it and was passed down through the family. The only flaw as noted by sharp eyes here is the bead, which the owner said he broke and glued back on. Hopefully i can be the winning bid on this beautiful condition gun.
