Default Painful (But Not Fatal)

I'm remodeling my home and of course more then half was gutted when the Virus become a pandemic. Thanks goodness one bathroom was functional but now supplies for the other bathroom and laundry room have been delayed. Contractor got notice today that some of the supplies from Ohio will arrive sometime between July 1st and August 15th. Home Depot notified me new toilet and sink for the guest bathroom are on a pallet waiting for pick-up but they have no one to unload the pallet.
Kitchen re-model has been postponed!!!!

I am surprised to hear that. Well, kind of. Around me (in Western NY) the trades are all pretty much business as usual. Hardware stores and Home & Garden Centers have been deemed as essential but the state and are carrying on as normal and most are hiring additional people.
And when it comes to contractors, they are considered essential too. And that goes along with the companies that support/supply them too.
But I guess different areas may be handling things different than others.
But as far as Restrictions on businesses, there isn't much worse than here in NY.

Thank goodness the home centers are still open, I have a LOT to do around my house and a completely clear schedule on weekends to get it all done.

The other night my wife, not the biggest fan of guns, starts talking about “what if’s” and asks me how many rounds of ammo I have and I tell her that “I have ~ 750 rounds for my AR.” She asks “is that enough?” If 750 rounds of 556 isn’t enough, all the toilet paper in the world isn’t going to make things any better.

That's funny and pretty true to how the media is handling this

IMHO this is being blown out of proportion. Tens of thousands of people die from the flu every year all over the world.

The weather is warming up and if we run out of skid paper we can go outside and use a hose. A friend and I just finished butchering a steer so meat won't be an issue have plenty of bourbon, cigars. and ammo. At least gas is cheap first time it's been below $2/gal in a long time.

Covid 19 is not the same as the flu.

Look at it this way: there is an effective vaccine for the flue and there are treatments that reduce the effects of the flue and still, as you said, tens of thousands of people die every year. There is no vaccine for Covid 19 and there are no effective treatments for Covid 19. And a Covid 19 vaccine won’t be available anytime soon.

In spite of vaccines and treatments the flue is a killer, imagine how much worse the numbers would be if there were not vaccines and treatment. If anyone wants to get a sense of what can happen here one only needs to take a look at what’s going on in Italy where treating Covid 19 is consuming virtually all of the country’s medical services.

The problem is this virus is spreading rapidly. The medical profession’s concern is an overwhelming number of people needing treatment but not enough beds and or staff to treat the sick. We say that can’t happen but it already has in Italy.
