Hang tough Mike. They say this thing will stay a hurricane Cat 2 then down to 1 all across Georgia and SE Alabama. Michael is going to make Sherman's march across Georgia look like a sunday school ice cream social. Already heard this storm compared to Camille also having the third lowest pressure ever recorded with Camille being 2nd since they have been keeping records.

I really hope people are safe and were able to get out of the way but this one moved so fast and is staying so strong as it moves inland hard not to imagine some casualties occurring especially inland where people thought they could ride it out.

One of the my favorite places in the world is Mexico Beach/ Port St. Joe and Cape San Blas at St. Joseph Bay which I am certain was totally decimated this afternoon. The last hurricane that struck that area was late 1800's. Tyndall Air Force base that housed one of F-22 fighter wing and training squadrons is beat to hell since it essentially adjoins Mexico Beach which was stated as the official landfall. Hard to say if they will be back there for a long time and will probably move to Eglin.
