Nice Remington example of the 1-frame pin spacing being the same as the later 1/2-frame pin spacing.

My DHE #1/2 frame gun has #1/2 frame 12 gauge barrels and #1 frame 16 gauge barrels. Each set has its own forend because #1/2 frame barrels use a #0 size forend. This DHE is a true lightweight #1/2 frame gun.

What does the big I stand for below the serial number on second photo ?
