The earliest catalog I have for this case is the 1872 catalog. It states:
The above cut represents one of our Black Walnut Cases made length of Barrels of the Gun which it holds, together with Shells. Primers,& in a very compact form, and is desirable for either carrying or keeping the Sportsman's outfit. The price was $10.00.
The 1882 catalog shows the identical black walnut case as a model 310 and the price was reduced to $8.00.
