DH /DHE ? At Cabelas

Cabela's Gun library and their incompetent sales staff are a joke- Now Bass Pro joins that group too. Can't see an ejector axle pin on a Parker as you can on an LC Smith or Ithaca- but if it is a VH, then it is a non-ejector, if a VHE thaen an ejector- simple as that--Wonder who the clown was in that 100 year old "family" that decided to put their "coat of arms" shield on the stock cheeks?? What a joke at $2900--and both barrels at .010" chokes- huum?? Wonder if that was a factory special order back then??

I would suspect that the "Coat of Arms" is hidding a pin through the head of the stock. As an aside we have seen in the Parker order books the quote"Pin stock head" I would love to see a documented Parker with the pinned stock head done in Meriden.

Dave, there was one on Gun Broker about a year ago with a PGCA letter stating the request for pinned stock. Scott has a 2 frame 10 ga. GH that has same pin and there is no sign of it needing it, the gun is in real high condition.

I received my letter on the 1908 PH 16- 26" twist on the O frame- the stock is almost unmarred, checking unboogered- and it has a hardwood pin through the cheeks- recessed- dead on center- wonder if it was factory done- when I opened the gun up to replace the top lever leaf spring, the stock head had NO cracks or stress lines anywhere I could see- even with a magnifier-

Sounds like a great research concept for us- if any of the records show that, ditto the hickory or other hardwood dowel in the butt end- I didn't remove the DHBP- it is the early spurred version, and it look like it grew out of the wood- but I am curious indeed..
