The GH-Grade started life as a nine-pound 2-frame Damascus barrel 12-gauge shipped to Simmons Hardware in St Louis, MO. in 1889. Sometime after 1918 it was back to Meriden for the 32-inch long, 3-inch chambered, 20-gauge Vulcan Steel barrels, as they have the CT, U.S.A. rib legend. Also got the post-1910 bolt-plates at that time. It was no closet queen, it has been carried and hunted a lot!! Hard to find shadows of the checkering patterns. It was in our display at The Vintage Cup in 2005.
