There’s a poster here, Joe Plante, from Alberta who apparently has access to Remington kiln-buster ammo. He cuts off the crimp and salvages the shot and primer. He sells the hulls very reasonably. I just took delivery of 300. They are 2 3/4” long after I even up the hull mouth. The new 8 gauge recipes from the Parker Pages have proved invaluable. 26.5 grs Clay Dot under 1.5 ounces shot and a 1044 wad fit nicely with a 6- crimp. The recipe calls for a 1/2” fiber wad in the plastic wad cup; removing the fiber wad makes this work. They are crimped on my PW375 using my 8 gauge tooling but you could also roll crimp them.
