My name is Tom Jay and though I've resided in Maryland since 1980 I originally hail from Wyomissing, PA. My hunting and gun lineage is long and storied going back to my great-grandfather in 1887 ordering a 12 ga. Parker D grade, size 1 frame, 28" barrels, cylinder bore (both). The gun was for the most part a "wall hanger" as I do not remember my grand-father or father ever going hunting or shooting with it. This gun's been in my possession for about 15 years and never bothered to shoot it either. This summer my 19 year old son suggested we take it sporting clays shooting. Not so fast, I said, let's get it checked out by the gunsmith. Northern Virginia Gun Works broke the gun down part by part, removed a little rust and reassembled it. It shoots GREAT. We're not strangers to sxs's as there are a couple more in my gun safe, a Parker Repro (20 ga. 2 barrel set), Parker Repro 12 ga Sporting Clays and a pair of Win 21's 20 ga. (2 barrel) and 12 ga. SK1/SK2 which we've always called the "Alley Cleaner". The 2 barrel 20 ga. Repro came from Jack Skeuse via Ken Goldenberg with Q1/Q2 and IC/Full at my request. The IC/Full is the perfect pheasant set up.

I've learned from Chuck Bishop that on the 1887 order for the Parker D 12 ga. there was also a 16 ga. G with 26" Damascus barrels ordered at the same time. Have no idea where that one is but am on the look out for it, serial # 53944.

I've enjoyed perusing the website especially for the Parker history and learning there's a lot of Parker interest from original owner's family members like me.
