Wood, someone decided the gun had too much drop. Im not sure yet how to handle this one. I think it would be a good candidate for a butt transplant but at the same time does the gun just deserve a whole new piece of wood.

The second set of barrels were added by Remington and have that massive Beaver tail, so I have a splinter forarm on the way (thank you Dean!).

Past that just a good health check is needed.

I currently have a 34 inch DHE at Will Brothers for basically a full restoration so I’m taking this one slow.

You’re very welcome. Has it arrived yet?

Not yet, good old post office says it’s “in transit”.

I’ve sold several . Only gun I’ve purchased in 2026 was a 1964 Superposed 20 gauge 26 1/2” IC/M RKLT 3” . But it only stayed with me for about a month .

Granted I’m not you so we most likely won’t agree . But if mine I’d shoot it for awhile with the cobbled stock and if I was dead on with it and if so pretty much leave it alone except for a good cleaning and maybe add to the finish . If it didn’t fit me as is I’d get my stock guru buddy to bring it back to the original dimensions (he ‘s pretty adept at blending fix it combs with the original wood . But again that’s just me .
